Pineneedles and Change

I had a job interview this morning down by Balboa Park, so afterwards I spent some time lying on the pine needles under the trees in the warm sun. One of the best smells in the world is pine needles warmed by the sun. It always reminds me of Yosemite.

Blog neglect

It’s unbelievable how quickly time passes.  I haven’t posted since March 17th!  My apologies to my faithful readers. . .so my mom (maybe), Mike and Syndee.
The reason for my neglect has been that my life has been revolving around the putting on and taking off of pantyhose for numerous job interviews. Great exercise, but it’s [...]

100 things about me

Interesting things in the works regarding a new job and my nutrition practice, but I’m feeling like posting some fluff instead. I got this forwarded to me on myspace, but I thought I’d post it here instead.
1. How many keys are on your keychain? Well I have 2 keychains. 1 with 5 keys for the basics, [...]

Fun with Film

History is a cherished thing in my family. My grandmother, who passed away a year and a half ago was the guardian of that history and now the hundreds of family pictures dating from back from the 1800’s, linens from all over the world, furniture made by members of the family and all sorts of [...]

My day just got much better

I’m working at the eco-friendly store today and the lady from Chuao chocolatiers down the way just brought me a little bag of fresh chocolates and truffles. For those of you not familiar with Chuao, since it’s just in San Diego, they make all of their chocolates fresh in the store, no preservatives and they [...]

Reassessing and Sunday Farmer’s Market finds

I started to type in failure as part of the title, but decided that I needed to reevaluate how I’m thinking about this right now. I gave a lot of thought to this decision and finally concluded that because my nutrition practice has been so slow and struggling that I needed to give up my [...]

A visit to Chino Farms

Well I bought my first official business suit last week. I’m 32, so that might seem a little odd, but my jobs up until now have been very casual atmospheres. I could wear jeans every day if I wanted to and I do want to, but I know that I need a suit for interviews, [...]

Overheard in our house

I was sitting on the couch two nights ago, watching “Age of Innocence.” Mike walks into the room and rolls his eyes, as he does when I’m watching anything with an accent or subtitles, stands watching the TV for a few moments and says,
“I really like Jeremy Irons. He’s really good in every role he does.”
 Silence.
“Um, [...]

Future job wish list

Well I finished my list of job requirements. . . for now anyway. As I think of new ones I’ll probably add them. After all I don’t have anything on there about weekly massages or an expense account!
The list is a bit vague, but I figure it’s a good start for the universe to send [...]

Heaven in a Jar

To preface this post - I’m trying to be funny and my head hurts, so my advice to you is to go into this one with low expectations of funniness on my end.
. . .just to be clear, I didn’t give myself a headache trying to be funny, although that has been known to [...]
